Question

Last week I bought PCMCIA Modem FM56RCL-BF at a computer shop in Jakarta, Indonesia. When I install driver of FM56RCL-BF to my PC, Laptop PC Toshiba Tecra, error message "This driver cannot install (Japanese Error Message)" appears every time. what difference brings the IEEE 1394TE
model to the dongle one (except the 4pin port becomes a 6pin one) ?

and what is the utility of the power input ?
thx |

Our IEEE 1394TE it can be use two port at samt time it doesn't reduces the stream for each ports, because this card it support two PHY, the utility power input is one A/C adapter (8V~40V, DC / 0.6W / max. 1.6A)it can make IEEE1394 6 ping connector carry power to your device. |

First, check what driver version you¡¦re using. The newest version is 4.0, and if your driver is earlier than this, then upgrading to driver version 4.0 should solve this problem. You can get the latest driver from our Web Site at http://www.billionton.com.tw/ (after Driver Soft, choose Fax Modem + LAN Combo PC Card, and then choose the relevant part number, depending on which version of the card you have. Secondly, the I/O and IRQ of certain Sound Cards may conflict with this card. Question

Can I use my modem under Win NT 4.0? |
|
Ans:
|
Yes, you can use your modem under Win NT 4.0. After choosing modem, the card should be auto-detected. If it is not, you need to go to the BIOS to reset the Com Port, and try disabling or enabling. As not all notebooks are the same, and many have different default settings, you need to go to Device Manager under Control Panel, and check that PCMCIA has been enabled. |
